Hello Anglers,
Len Thompson is introducing two "new" patterns this spring... Hammered Perch and Hammered Brass & Flame. We cannot ignore the demand for these patterns any longer. We are confident they will sell and fish very well. We have lately been promoting Len Thompson with the words, "It's all in the action." This is still true. Len Thompson's success is due, primarily, to the design of the spoons and the action in the water. However, all anglers will agree that color is also an important component. As one can see by our limited color selection, we rarely introduce "new" patterns to the Len Thompson lineup unless they are worthy.

The Len Thompson Perch (PE) on hammered brass is a familiar combination of Yellow, Green, Black and Red. We have been asked for many years to produce a perch spoon. This basic pattern has been painted on other products and used successfully for a long, long time. One look at the walls of your favorite tackle shop and you will see that nearly every crankbait and plug manufacturer offers a "Perch" pattern, yet there may not be even one "Perch" spoon on the wall. We believe there is a need for a top quality spoon with a perch finish. This proven color scheme on hammered brass combined with the traditional Len Thompson action should prove to be a winner.
Of course, many anglers will associate the Perch pattern with Pike fishing but don't stop there. One knowledgeable angler was frothing at the mouth with excitement when introduced to Len Thompson's new Perch lure. He has been adding weight to lighter, import Perch spoons to successfully chase after Vancouver Island steelhead. We believe in his theory... those colors combined with the Len Thompson weight and action will make a terrific trout lure in addition to the obvious uses when targeting pike, muskie, walleye, perch, and other species of gamefish.
Similar to the Perch pattern, we have been asked repeatedly to produce a hammered brass and fluorescent orange pattern. The 50/50 Hammered Brass & Flame (BF) is a wickedly good pattern. The hammered version should produce as well as (if not better than) the smooth version of this 50/50 pattern we tested during the 2003 season. This spoon works. Our shop foreman reported a 100+ fish day while chasing Cutthroats in the Alberta Rocky Mountains. There is definitely something special about the combination of Brass and Flame (Fluorescent Orange).
These two Len Thompson patterns are available in all sizes, except our largest No. 4 trolling spoon. Because of the relatively late introduction, they are going to be tough to find on the retailers shelves this year. However, our fans are very faithful and likely very determined to get their hands on the next new Len Thompson color pattern. We expect to hear a number of success stories from anglers across North America who try the new hammered Len Thompson lures for the first time this season.
